NASA and its international partners have announced a plan to safely retire the ISS by the year 2030. Instead of leaving it in orbit as dangerous space junk, NASA will deorbit the massive structure and crash it into a remote part of the Pacific Ocean known as Point Nemo – also called the "spacecraft graveyard."
