George Socolow Four Duets

Описание к видео George Socolow Four Duets

9 Year Old George Socolow composed this Violin and Cello Suite performed here by wonderful violinist Katherine Khu Hyeon Lim and amazing cellist Raffi Boden. The first movement ‘Squares of Chess,’ represents George’s attempt to understand a game he has never played. The second, ‘Simple Tunes,’ is George’s attempt to convey great emotion through very simple phrasing. The third movement pays homage to Chopin and to his own teacher Katherine, here playing the piece. His last movement shares the sorrow and bitterness he hears in lullabies—that, George claims, are never simply sweet, happy songs for children.
