It is located in the central part of the Polish coast, in Pomeranian Voivodeship. It includes the Łebsko Spit, the Gardeńsko-Lebsko Lowland, fragments of a moraine from the last glaciation with the highest culmination of 115 meters above sea level on Rowokół Hill, and a number of lakes: Łebsko (7.1 thousand hectares), Gardno (2.5 thousand hectares), Lake Dołgie Wielkie (156 hectares) and Dołgie Małe (6.2 hectares).

Characteristic elements of the Park are the coastal lakes, marshes, meadows, peat bogs, coastal forests and forests, and above all the dune belt with moving dunes. The symbol of the National Park is the silver-backed gull.

Slowinski National Park is one of 23 national parks in Poland and one of 2 coastal parks. It was created to preserve in unchanged beauty the system of coastal lakes, marshes, peat bogs, meadows, coastal forests and forests, and above all the dune belt of the spit with moving dunes unique in Europe. The rank and natural value of the SNP is evidenced by its inclusion in the international network of protected areas such as:
HELCOMBSPA, World Nature Reserve or Ramsar wetland.
