As you know we all spend a ton of time in the car. Err, at least we used to…It’s not a bad idea to do a deep clean every 3 to 6 months anyway but we need to take extra steps now to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

In this video I’ve consulted the CDC guidelines, as well as information from the EPA and The World Health Organization.

And the virus can live on surfaces up to 3 days so we’ve got to reduce our possible exposure.

We're using Force of Nature, which is on the EPA list of approved cleaners, plus it's nontoxic.
One of the main ingredients in Force of Nature is Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) , which disinfects & sanitizes. Hypochlorous acid is so gentle and effective it’s commonly used in wound healing products and as a hospital sanitizer & disinfectant.

To become a federally registered EPA disinfectant and sanitizer, the product is tested using extremely rigorous EPA required anti-microbial testing protocols across multiple batches of product.

Suppliers, purity, concentration & processing of all individual ingredients must be approved, with strict statistical limits on all.

The product has to kill a specified range of microbes at the 99.9% level within a specified amount of time. Force of Nature is EPA registered for sanitizing and disinfecting hospitals, ICUs, veterinary clinics, schools, daycares, and more.

It kills viruses and bacteria as effectively as bleach with no harmful chemicals, residues or fumes.

Use a steam cleaner to clean and then on areas where you need it to disinfect, you just have to hold it on surfaces for 3 minutes. But it’s great in that you can use a steam cleaner on both porous AND non porous surfaces - so almost anywhere in the car.

You just want to be careful not to get the tip too close to the upholstery because it gets up to 275 degrees and it can burn or melt fabric at that temperature.

The CDC recommends that you clean high touch surfaces like the inside your car, DAILY. That’s the goal. I mean you may not drive that often so you can get away with doing it less frequently.

Spray Force of Nature or cleaner on your microfiber cloth (we love Mr Siga). Use this on plastics, leather and vinyl which are non-porous materials. So the chemical isn’t going to be absorbed into these materials.

But don’t ever spray any cleaner directly on radio screens, speakers, buttons or any electrical components because if you get liquid inside it can ruin them. So just spray the cleaner onto the cloth, then wipe the surfaces.
