There is huge pressure on housing in Whistler, especially for residents who work in the Resort Municipality. This is why for almost the past 30 years, Whistler Housing Authority has been working with different orders of the government, the community, and developers to build below market rentals.

I visited some of these developments that the Federal Government is helping fund in part through financing and grants, so Whistlerites can afford to live where they work.

Through programs like the Affordable Housing Fund, federal funding has helped support over 1,000 affordable units in our riding since 2019 and with recent announcements a total of 6321 units over the next 10 years.
