High-stakes trade diplomacy is gathering pace. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal says the India-US trade deal will be signed in March, with a joint statement expected as early as next week. Even as fine print remains under wraps, the MEA makes it clear - India’s energy security comes first, and New Delhi is open to buying oil from Venezuela if needed.

And the trade push doesn’t stop there. Days after sealing deals with the US and the EU, India is now opening talks with the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council. From Washington to Brussels to the Gulf—India is accelerating its global trade reset at full throttle.

Meanwhile, Moscow has now hit back at Donald Trump’s claim that India will stop buying Russian oil. The Kremlin says India cannot be dictated to, is free to source crude from anywhere, and that it has received no word from New Delhi about ending Russian oil purchases.
