The Hayes Prize is awarded annually to recognize emerging leaders from all agencies in New York City government for their commitment, creative thinking and development
of outstanding high-impact projects in support of the community. Named in fond memory of Frederick O'Reilly Hayes, Budget Director in the '60s, a special Coronavirus Crisis Response Award was presented to 20 young public servants for their projects in reaction to the pandemic.
