The gun control lobby and Democrats nearly wet themselves each time a person is murdered with a firearm who's NOT in an urban area or big city. (Murders in urban areas with illegal firearms don't seem important to them.) The predictable chant for "universal" background checks and stronger gun laws along with the almost humorous, but surely ridiculous call for "assault weapons" bans and "high capacity" magazine bans rings out form them every time there's a shooting in America.

But what exactly is the background check policy when purchasing a firearm, you ask? Here we tell you. But we simplify a little bit in the event there's a remotely open-minded liberal or Democrat watching.
