Ricardo Fuller goals 2006 - 2011

The Jamacian International (73 apps and nine goals) first gained attention following a successful loan spell with Hearts in 2001/02. He signed for Preston North End soon after and scored 31 goals in 63 games for the Lilywhites between 2002 and 2004. Such form saw him move to Portsmouth for £1 million in August 2004. He fell out of favour at Fratton Park and ended up signing for their local rivals, Southampton, for £90,000. A year later he was on the move again, Tony Pulis bought him to Stoke for £500,000 in August 2006. He had an impressive first season, scoring 11 goals in 32 games, the only downside being his temper on the pitch (two needless red cards and ten yellow cards). He enjoyed his best Stoke season in 2007/08, scoring 15 goals and helping the club win promotion to the Premier League. He was also voted in the PFA Championship Team of the Season. Back in the top flight he scored eleven times to finish our leading scorer for the third year running. In his final years he suffered with a couple of injury problems and fell behind Jon Walters and Kenwyne Jones in the battle for a starting place. He netted his 50th and final Stoke goal away at Besiktas in the Europa League (December 2011). After leaving the club he spent time at Charlton, Blackpool, Millwall and Oldham before retiring in May 2016.
