The Coast Guard Aviation Command (CGAvCom) and Coast Guard Special Operations Force (CGSOF) have conducted a joint training exercises for Air-to-Ship Vertical Insertion (Heleborne) and Helocast at Sea from 28 February to 05 March 2024.

Coast Guard pilot, crew, and personnel underwent lectures and dry run, and culminated with helicopter operations, fast rope, helocast, and rappelling.
According to CGAvCom, the exercises improved Coast Guardians’ emergency skills, overall readiness, and operational capabilities.

“The Coast Guard Aviation Command is proud to partake in such remarkable breakthrough and is grateful for the opportunity to not only showcase the skills and capabilities of our air assets but also to enhanced and honed the skills of our pilots and crew,” CGAvCom said.

“[We are] committed in the pursuit of excellence; constantly aligning with the organization’s missions and mandated functions and steadfast to carry on with the direction: Readiness, Innovation, and Teamwork,” the Command furthered.
