法隆寺、藥師寺等這些被世界驚嘆的日本著名寺廟背後，一位名叫小川三夫的國寶級匠人功不可沒。他從18歲決心做宮殿木匠開始，之後師從西岡常一，至今已經50多年，經手了100多座木結構建築。在他認為，傳統不是要維護的，只要拼命建造不會丟臉的東西，就自然會形成傳統。

As a pupil of Nishioka Tsunekazu, the master carpenter of Horyuji, Ogawa Mitsuo studied the ancient traditions of temple construction. He continued the ancient practices of construction and restoration used for historical temple buildings and contributed to preserving the oldest existing wooden structures in Japan.
