Thimbleberries are a delicious red berry, they are a prized berry located in a few places across the United States, and very sough after in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Used most often to make jam and excellent over vanilla ice cream. Don't ask me for my thimbleberry spots or anyone else because most of us will not tell you our favorite thimbleberry patches. A pound of thimbleberries can fetch up to $20/lb and a small 8oz jar of jam can range from $13-$22 depending on the season. The berry season usually starts about mid July and usually through the first week of August.
