The WebAssembly System Interface and Node.js

Описание к видео The WebAssembly System Interface and Node.js

6 months ago we held a Node.js Summit and we are ready to share it with the world!

This talk is given by Colin Ihrig, a Software Engineer at Joyent.

The Web Assembly System Interface, or WASI, is a relatively new and experimental technology that gives sandboxed WebAssembly applications access to the underlying system via a collection of system call APIs. While WASI has generated a lot of excitement, there are still many details to sort out.

Recent versions of Node.js have added experimental WASI support to the platform. This talk introduces the basics of WASI, including how to write an application that utilizes WASI. The talk also explores future directions of the work to better support WASI in Node.js and libuv.
