苗族蜡染 Batik of Miao People

苗族，生活在中国西南部的崇山峻岭中，掌握着一项独有而神秘的技艺：蜡染。蜡染兼具实用和艺术的双重价值。蜡染是用植物做成染水，用蜂蜡涂抹在棉布上再进行染色的过程。蜡染过程复杂，需要耐心。蜡染的格调是苗族人朴素的生活写照。这个没有文字的民族用丰富的图案表达对世界的认知和理解。

The Miao, living in the mountains of southwestern China, has a unique and mysterious skill: batik. Batik has both practical and artistic values. After using plants to make dye water, they apply beeswax to cotton and dye it. The batik process is complicated and requires patience. The style of batik is a simple life portrayal of the Miao people.
