This is more than a cover. It's a mission statement.

When I first heard this song last year from a short guitar cover Nolithium did on Twitter, I was immediately in love with it sonically--so I checked out the full version, and turned on the captions. Not only was the song beautiful musically, but it also hit me deeply within my soul lyrically. I knew then I had to cover it and immediately started writing a translation, which has ended up being one of my favorite lyric sets I've ever written. I was in a bad place mentally at that time last year and was so confused as to whether this job, making music, was right for me, and was scared that i was losing something i love--and this song reminded my why I create. Why I love this art. Why I play guitar. Why I will SHOUT, for all the world to hear, my story. It's connection. It's humanity. Music is raw emotion in sonic form and there is no greater power than being able to connect with another person across the world and touch their life in some small way without even knowing. "My body will grow weak and frail, this temporal shell is bound to fail, but my spirit will soar and live for all eternity." Music is part of our soul. Our spirit. It was given to us as a gift by God to connect with each other, to express. This is why I make music. There is nothing I would rather do.
