The Treasure Coast is set to open its first new hospital in more than a decade.

The Florida Coast Medical Center is preparing to open its doors on Tuesday, September 9th. The $200 million project is located near Florida's Turnpike and Becker Road, in one of the fastest-growing areas in the country.

Florida Coast Medical Center will provide comprehensive emergency and outpatient care and is designed to serve residents in both St. Lucie and Martin counties. The 185,000-square-foot facility is owned by Tenet Healthcare and is an affiliate of the Palm Beach Health Network.

The hospital's CEO, Tyler Sherrill, emphasized the project's community focus. "It's not just one single company that drives the hospital," he said. "It's the community that ultimately carries it forward and will benefit from it in the future."
