Around February 2024, fans noticed that the record label had filed a trademark for a girl group name, MEOVV. This set off a wave of speculation as a certain group of girls were seen coming and going from YG’s building. This was shortly after the label posted a YouTube video announcing a girl group audition for one spot in the debut lineup.
