The “Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari” initiative is a reflection of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s unwavering resolve to make water conservation a national priority. The initiative emphasizes the importance of Jan Bhagidari in water conservation & embodies a pledge for united action from all stakeholders with the aim to have a special focus on the construction of artificial recharge structures/borewell recharge shafts, among other activities, which will increase storage capacity & help to augment groundwater recharge.

The webinar will highlight successful water conservation initiatives, showcasing the role of community participation and traditional practices in improving water security. In Mancherial, interventions like rainwater harvesting, soakpits, and percolation tanks have boosted groundwater levels and agriculture. In Rajouri, the Jal Sanchay initiative revived springs and built ponds, tanks, and dugwells with active involvement from local communities for sustainable maintenance. The session will demonstrate how these community-driven efforts strengthen livelihoods and create replicable models for water management.
