Ingredients for Dough --

All-purpose flour(मैदा ) – 500 gm
Sunflower oil(तेल ) – 100 ml
Water(पानी ) – 200 ML
Salt(नमक ) – 1 pinch

For syrup --

Sugar(शक्कर ) – 400 gm
Water(पानी ) – 200 ml
Saffron(केसर ) – 5-6 threads
Lemon juice(निम्बू का रस ) – ½ Tsp
Green Cardamom powder(इलाइची पाउडर ) – ½ Tsp

Method --

1. Add oil and salt in all-purpose flour and mix them well together.
2. Keep adding little amount of water and make a stiff dough.
3. Cover with a damp cloth and keep aside and rest for 10 minutes.
4. In a pan add water and sugar and boil it.
5. When water starts boiling then simmer the flame and cook it.
6. When your syrup is 70% cooked add lemon juice, cardamom powder and saffron and mix them together.
7. When your syrup gets one string consistency then turn off the flame.
8. Take a small dough and make a thin rectangular sheet (8/4 inch).
9. Use a knife or cutter to make cuts in the middle of the sheet (watch video).
10. Put little water at the edge of the sheet and fold them 2 times.
11. Take one of the sides and fold in reverse through the middle of Patti.
12. Heat the oil at medium flame and put all the leaves into it and fry on both sides until light golden brown at low flame.
13. Take out all the leaves from oil and put it into syrup for 3-4 seconds.
14. Store it in a container after it cools down.
