Howdy happy campers,
JT here and it's another fine and glorious day out here in SW Oklahoma. Well... This video is to "Protect" that Fabulous Rav4 Prime of yours. Alot of videos out there on Specs, how fast it goes, and all sorts of nifty things, but not alot on...Maintaining the PRime to keep it working as efficiently as possible. Not just the outside you need to maintain, but also the inside. So here, I'm going to show you how to do the basics of the ABCs for the PRIME. That's right...simple as A B and C... A for Air Filter in the Engine, B for the Battery Hybrid Filter and C for the Cabin Air Filter. So stay tuned if you want to learn more. It's a pretty short video.
With your busy schedule and other priorities in life, it is easy to forget to check the simple things in the RAV4 PRIME to keep it working as efficiently as possible. I always associate the vehicle as if it is your own body. If your nose is clogged up, then naturally it is harder to breathe and it makes your lungs work harder. Same thing in your HOME A/C unit, if you change that A/C filter only once a year, that unit will work extremely hard to maintain your home and you will probably pay a higher energy bill. So it is the same for the PRIME. Check and change ALL the filters on a regular basis, make it a habit that becomes 2nd nature.
It is up to you. For my Prime, I change All the filters every 5,000 miles. Some people might say it's not worth the money to change it every 5,000 or that it is not even needed. That's fine and dandy. To each, his own. I'm just here to show you how it is done. How often you want to change yours is your prerogative. There is no right or wrong, there is only a choice and you decide when that is. So as I've always said in my videos, take care of your vehicle and it will...take care of you. I can understand that filters in your area might be expensive or you might be strapped for cash, but think for the long term that Prime will give back to you. Anyways... enough gibber-jabber...Here it is for your viewing pleasure.
In case you wanted a digital copy of the Rav4 Prime's warranties and Schedule Maintenance log, go to the section of the site that is titled in big bold letters: Warranty Information and you will see the PDF filed there for download:
https://www.toyota.com/owners/resourc...
Starting on page 38 is the Maintenance log for each mileage reached for your the Rav4 Prime and what needs to be done. So let's just make it simple and this is based on what is stated on the maintenance log. Basically every 5,000 miles you need to inspect the D/C to D/C CONVERTER AIR INTAKE FILTER or sometimes called the Hybrid Air Filter. And no where in the PDF did I see it mention about "Replacing it in any way". Now that's strange. But it does state to at least "Clean" it every 20,000 miles.
Now for the Cabin Air Filter, at least change it every 10,000 miles.
For the Engine Air Filter, change that at least every 30,000 miles.
So there you have it for easy reference. Just keep this in mind. Those are just "Recommended" mileage markers. You know how you drive, check it on a regular basis, like monthly or at least every 6 months.
I've posted the Part Numbers at the end and also the cost per part.
I don't ask for subscribers or to click on anything, but If you found it useful, kindly share it with your family and friends and tell them that it is time for them to get a "PRIME" vehicle. They deserve the best!
Check out the end and tell me below if "YOU" are getting around the same charge every night or not. I'm curious myself. Hopefully the next vid should be the 20,000 mile mark and "TOTAL Cost" of driving my Prime.
Thank you for watching. Take care, Stay safe and God Bless!!!
