Eastbourne airshow - Airbourne 2024 - Thrilling time!

I’ve had a long break, but it was good to be out leaving anxieties for the day. It was a spur of the moment decision to head out to the airshow. I was in Eastbourne exactly a year ago for a group hike, coinciding with Airbourne and the roar of the engines got me very excited.

Yes, the military craft are killing machines, but the sound of those engines are so entertaining to listen to. I’d likely have a different point of view if jets were flying around bombing our country. The Battle of Britain and Memorial flights were so commanding and mighty. It’s a massive contrast to the flighty agile Typhoon. I was getting goosebumps even editing the video. Every time I come across the Typhoon or an F35 (e.g. Lake District) my heart does somersaults and gets me very giddy with excitement and fear… those machines are so phwoaaargh! Ugh, but they’re killing machines. Yes, but look at them go go go!

I was using manual-focus lenses, and this monopod is the only support I have that’s lightweight. As a result, it was a pain to use for filming aviation. I don’t recommend non-fancy monopods for this activity.
