Hildegard of Bingen was a mystic, author and composer. She lived a withdrawn life, spending most of her time behind convent walls. Her writings and music have influenced people to this day.

Hildegard of Bingen was born in 1098 in Germany. She was a nun who was very interested in nature and the natural world around her. She wrote about how God created everything that exists on earth and how we should live in harmony with nature rather than destroying it or taking more than we need from it.

She also wrote poetry and music which were revelatory for the time period she lived in. Many popes, kings and influential people consulted Hildegard of Bingen because they believed that she had special powers or knowledge about God's will for them and their countries.
