He is considered as one of the greatest poets and novelist in the late 20th century in India. In his childhood, he first kissed clay-idol of the Goddess Saraswatidevi, and that was his first kiss-experience in life. When he was the young leading poet of the Krittibas Community, he first took alcohol in Grand Hotel with his friends. Later he went to Khalasitola with Kamal Kumar Majumdar, where he took Bangla Disi Liquor. The experience was extraordinary one. Finally he was also in love with a girl named Aparna, when he was in class VIII. This love story ended in an unsuccessful journey. Separation of Aparna had a deep impact on Sunil's entire life. Possibly his incomparable creation "Neera" is the reflection of his first love, Aparna.
