Following the 2021 murder of a Lake Tahoe-area man and the attempted murder and subsequent death of his wife, the couple's daughters have been battling it out in court over a multi-million dollar inheritance. On June 5, 2021, investigators said someone shot Robert Gary Spohr, 70, and his wife, Wendy Wood, 68. Spohr died, and Wood survived a gunshot wound to the head. Her daughter, Adrienne Spohr, said Wood had to relearn how to walk, talk and eat. However, she never regained her memory of who the shooter was that night. Earlier this year, Adrienne said Wood killed herself. Since the deaths of their parents, Adrienne and her sister, Erin Spohr, have filed lawsuits against each other.
