Описание к видео BOON IN NECHELLS BIRMINGHAM 7

In 1986 Central TV filmed an episode of Boon In Nechells Birmingham. The episode was called Jack Of All Tradesmen and was episode 10 of the first series.

Shot list is:
1 Boon arrives in Nechells via Rupert St and turns in to Oliver St and past the Bradburn Way Shops, turning in to Denby Close and pulling up outside Greenbank House (which also housed the area's Health & Welfare Centre, it was also my 2nd Nechells home from 1961-1970. Includes scenes of the interior of the block and also the interior of the homes. Also in the 1st scenes are the Cromwell St tower blocks of Thames, Medway & Severn Towers and Chadsmoor Terrace. (Medway Tower was my 6th and last Nechells home 1980-1982 and Chadsmoor Terrace was my 4th Nechells home 1972-1978) and the Maisonettes of Little Hall Grove (as seen in the Telescope scene)

2: Boon arrives at the garages of Elm tree Tower, has a pint and a packet of crisps in one of the estates pubs The Oliver Cromwell (and yes that is Charles Lawson AKA Jim McDonald Coronation St)

3: Doreen pulls in to Hyssop Close from Rupert St past Newlands House, (High Tower, my 3rd Nechells home 1970-1972 is in the background, surrounded by scaffolding) the area's main CofE church, St Matthews is also seen as is the Bradburn Way Maisonettes with the spiral staircase and the Bradburn Way bridge leading to the shops (which were seen in the opening scene)

None of the Bradburn Way Estate, comprising of Greenbank House, Bradburn Way, Ashtree House, Malvern House, Newlands House Southdown House, Elm Tree Tower & Sycamore House exist in 2019. The only thing still standing is the Bloomsbury URC Centre Church (the car park was one of the places we used to play football on and have the areas biggest bonfires on)
