Inside AMAZING TOMBS of late 18th dynasty - Tutankhamun, Ay, Ramose | Luxor, Egypt

I think it won’t be an exaggeration to say that apart from Khufu, Ramesses the Great or Cleopatra the most famous are pharaohs from the 18th dynasty (which lasted more than 250 years (1550–1292 BCE). Hatshepsut, Thutmosids, Amenhotep III, Akhenaten or Tutankhamun (This year 100th anniversary of the discovery of his tomb) are among the most known rulers in the world. The first dynasty of the New Kingdom wasn’t, however, without its ups and downs. After the Golden Era of Hatshepsut and Amenhotep III, Akhenaten plunged the Egyptian empire into a deep crisis. His monotheistic approach to religion and total devotion to "the only god Aten" pushed domestic and foreign affairs to the background, and almost completely detached the pharaoh and his "inner circle" from the rest of ancient Egyptian society, and thus the culture cultivated for thousands of years.
