Remember my 2019 Snufkin analysis video? Well, his fear of being forgotten and social anxiety most likely stems from the fact that he had something almost as bad as abusive parents.


Parents that didn’t care about their child whatsoever.


Snufkin’s father, the Joxter, is almost as lazy as a sloth and basically has the attention span of a freaking toddler. And don’t get me started on the Mymble!


She could just get a nanny or leashes to keep track of all her kids that act like hyenas on a sugar rush, but NOOOOOOOO! She just lets them do their own thing. In fact, she probably wouldn’t even care if one DIED! She doesn’t care about how her children think. She’s basically self-centered and crude.


That’s the thing about Moominvalley 2019. In evokes so many emotions from me. Voice acting has to play a part.

From loving to hate the Mymble because Jennifer Saunders (who also voiced the fairy godmother from “Shrek 2”) aces a self-centered mother who’s just lost her marbles to LOLing at Moominpappa’s eccentricities because Matt Berry is basically ZeFrank1 but British to swooning and basically adopting Snufkin because Edvin Endre has the voice of a pure precious babey, the voice actors just nail it and do a good job!


Music also has to do with my love for Moominvalley. The majority of the songs remind me of Snufkin, one way or another. My favorites are:



1. “Ready Now” by Dodie (it basically talks about Snufkin’s inner struggles and hopefully foreshadows Snufkin talking to Moomintroll about his fears and anxieties and Moomintroll listens and everyone helps comfort Snufkin and he’s reminded that no matter what, his friends will always love him.)

2. Homesick by Cavetown (even when on vacation, this song always makes me long for home)

3. Home Again by First Aid Kit (major country boy energy and just so emotional)

4. By Your Side by Mellah (always makes me want to just jump up and go jogging. Also, YIP YIP!)

5. Love Me With All Of Your Heart by Delilah Montagu (Snufkin and Moomintroll are the embodiment of BFFs)

6. Home by Josef Salvat (Snufkin gets therapy vibes: The Sequel)

7. All Small Beasts Should Have Bows In Their Tails (reminds me of Hiccup and Toothless)


This is a little shitpost because I wanted to express one of my thoughts on Moominvalley 2019.
