Which Photo Resizing Photo editing software do you use and which one do you find works best?

Personally I have found it varies dramatically from image to image and if I wanted to be smart I would have hand picked the right shots to highlight the one I feel is best but these were completely random shots that I never edited before so the results were as much of a surprise to me as they were to you.
