Описание к видео Nike SB x Why So Sad? Dunk Low - Unboxing & On Foot

Collaborating with Scottish skater John Rattray’s on-going mental health campaign ‘Why So Sad?’, this Nike SB Dunk is styled in a wear-away colourway designed to uplift spirits and remind ourselves to ‘move, talk and ask, why so sad?’. Featuring Rattray’s iconic Predatory Bird logo and arriving as a follow on from similarly themed releases including the recent Skate Like A Girl Dunk Low.

After losing his sister to suicide in 2011, Rattray founded the Why So Sad? campaign in 2017 with the sole focus of raising awareness for both mental health and suicide prevention. Led by a goal of making sport a daily habit thanks to its stimulating benefits, Why So Sad? was founded as a platform to help approach the seriousness of the subject through a lighthearted play on skate language.

Known for his ties to Blueprint Skateboards, Zero Skateboards and New Balance Numeric, John Rattray’s Why So Sad? project joins the likes of other Community Impact groups such as The Ben Raemers Foundation, Skate Like A Girl, The Center for Healing and Justice Through Sport (CHJS) and The Harold Hunter Foundation in exploring the topic of mental health in and around skate culture. Similar Nike releases that celebrate the open discussion of mental health, include the recent Skate Like A Girl Dunk Low, the LGBTQIA+ supporting Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Be True’ and the ‘In My Feels’ Air Max 270 React from 2019 designed by psychotherapist and mental health advocate Liz Beecroft.

Styled in a tonal blue colourway with mixed material suede and leather uppers, this Nike SB Dunk Low Premium also features wear-away side Swooshes that transform from navy to yellow. A white rubber cupsole is paired with a translucent rubber outsole featuring Nike’s classic circular tread, whilst a cushioned foam sockliner and a Zoom Air heel unit supply additional support. Interchangeable laces help secure the padded ‘Nike SB Dunk Low Pro’ tongue in place, whilst each heel features an embroidered ‘?’ logo. Finished with printed ‘Why So Sad? x Nike SB’ insoles, alternating Predatory Bird lateral quarter logos that pay homage to Rattray’s iconic blog and additional flag label detailing sewn beneath each tongue.
