Opening up for Alan Doyle & his Beautiful Beautiful Band on Night #10 of Iceberg Alley at Mile One, Matt Mays and his own ace "shredder" band put on a great set, as they always do. This last song of a deadly, guitar-rock set finds Matt minus his trusty guitar, but even without his customary instrument, he has the showmanship and charm (and the energy!) to make this such a fun ending to the performance (doesn't hurt to be performing a great tune too). And one could argue that he's actually playing the mic (and cord, and stand) here! Iceberg Alley @ Mile One Centre, St. John's, NL. September 19, 2021
