Let's take a look at the new Snapshot & Pre-Release updates available this week for Minecraft 1.9 the Combat Update (16w07a & 16w07b, 1.9 Pre-Release 01 & 1.9 Pre-Release 02) and run down the list of new features & fixes added, including a Release Date at long last, more Shield durabilty, tapping jump mid-flight to trigger Elytra gliding, a strange Elytra swimming animation that eats durability, the option to disable Cape textures for your Elytra, a new gamerule disableElytraMovementCheck, less iron bar cages protecting the Ender Crystals during the revamped Ender Dragon boss fight, altered pack spawning for mobs, sounds for map making, more subtitles for sound events, and more. Also, lots of optimizations & bug fixes (around 400 total bug fixes in 1.9!). Thanks for watching guys...1.9 is nearly feature complete & ready!
