Drone footage captures spectacular fall foliage across US landscapes

Autumn foliage transformed landscapes across North America with their dazzling colours as the fall season begins, and drone footage captured the stunning bird's-eye-view of the fall leaves in Utah and Vermont.

A rain shortage in northeastern Utah triggered an early peak for seasonal fall foliage, and the autumnal pallette was mixed with smoke from distant wildfires.

The vibrancy of the leaves is dependent on weather conditions. Warm days and clear, cool nights, with low moisture help produce brighter colours.
