Is it better to use a compressor before or after overdrive/distortion? Vlog #12

A common question we get many times is "Should I put my compressor before or after my overdrive or distortion"? The truth is that there's really not right or wrong way, but I did want to demonstrate what the sound differences will be. You'll notice in this video that I'm using the Ego Compressor. This doesn't apply to just the Ego Comp, it applies to nearly all compressor pedals. Gear used in this video is a Whitfill Telecaster, Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, Wampler Ego Compressor (duh), and Clarksdale Overdrive, which is a TS style of overdrive with an active bass and mids control.
