Located 137 kilometers south of Manila, Lucena City is classified as a highly urbanized city in the Calabarzon region with a population of 278,924 as of 2020 census. It is divided into 33 barangays and considered the gateway city to the Bicol Region. The city’s core is dominated by merchandising and service establishments with over 6,000 registered businesses, 80% of which are micro-businesses and SMEs generating PHP 1 billion in revenue for the local government.
