The ECOTRAIN programme is based on innovative technologies mastered by French industrialists (Socofer, Stratiforme, Clearsy, Syntony) and developed by several IMT research centres (IMT Mines Albi and IMT Nord Europe) and UTC Compiègne.
With a consortium of leading French industrialists to build it, it gives engineers and technicians from the railway world their proper place: spearheading a citizen-based innovation that respects the environment and public finances. Combining public ownership and open licensing, ECOTRAIN can be deployed in France and produced in many other countries, as the fight against Global Warming does not stop at our borders! Thanks to the expertise of ECOTRAIN's industrial partners, the first prototype tests will be carried out in 2025 in ALBI PUYGOUZON
