After almost 3 years I finally have some footage from the In-House side of the municipality.
Just last Tuesday I went up to the Northside part of Moreland, where collections are run ‘in-house’ by the council themselves. In-house run a mixed fleet, mostly consisting of newer Volvos with both Bucher and Superior PAK body’s, as well as a handful of the older Accos have remained, with most being used as spare units, but 1 or 2 are still used on full-time runs.

It took me quite a while to find this truck as I kept running into the fogo truck, which that driver wasn’t too keen on filming, eventually after quite a few circles around the collection area, I did manage to spot an older Iveco Cab and raced down to find this truck. #2822 (23, renumbered from 8) is one of the old recycle trucks, and the only one which has had its signage removed and replaced with council logos. I was quite pleased to film this truck on recycle, as most times I’ve seen it recently it would be collecting garbage or fogo.

As this was the first collection of recycle bins for this area since Christmas, there were lots of cardboard boxes and paper. Towards the end of the video the truck started to pack out, and had to go tip not too long after I finished filming. A couple of other recycle trucks came and chopped out the remaining few streets.

This was the only truck I was able to record, I did see a few Volvo trucks out, and I do plan to make another trip soon to document some of the Volvos.
