Family camping out of a truck, SUV, or Van means often making the most of limited space. Over the past 6+ months I’ve been using two platforms that both solve this problem well: the BamBeds Solo platform and the Hele Outdoors Hele Box.

Both create a flat, elevated sleeping surface and free up gear storage but they do it differently:

BamBeds Solo: Rock solid stability, lower profile for more headroom, and storage for two large Hefty 63 qt bins. 1,500lb capacity.

Hele Outdoors Hele Box: Slimmer footprint, modular design, and enough clearance for four Sidiocrate 2.0 crates underneath. 250lb capacity.

I use each setup and based on the pros and cons of each camping scenario. If you’re looking to sleep in the vehicle and store your gear, this walk-through should save you time and money. It took months of trying different platforms and bins and lots of measuring (and sleeping).
