Premier Daniel Andrews has revealed the coronavirus caseload in the state’s aged care sector and across regional Victoria has dropped.

Mr Andrews announced regional cases comprised about 400 of the state’s 4864 active infections located outside of metropolitan Melbourne.

The Premier also thanked those Victorians who were coming forward for testing with more than two million test results having been returned from laboratories.

“It really is critical for us to have a proper picture of how much virus is out there and to make sure that we're isolating those who are positive away from other people to try and drive that number," he said.

Mr Andrews outlined the gender and age divide of the state's 13 new deaths, with one man in his 70s, six females in their 80s and five females and one male in their 90s.
