Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has issued a clarification regarding the recent demolition drive in Bengaluru's Kogilu village. Addressing the public outrage, Shivakumar stated that the '15 acres in survey number 99 of Kogilu village government, Gomala land was allotted to BBMP' and explained that the site was a former quarry used for dumping waste, making it 'extremely unsafe for human occupation'. He confirmed that unauthorized structures were removed on December 20 and assured that rehabilitation facilities are being provided.
