Welcome to The Laylow, Autograph Collection (Marriott) in Waikiki, Honolulu! I picked this hotel because it’s one of the more premium-feeling Marriott options in the city without being full-on luxury. Autograph Collection properties are unique by design, so I wanted to see if Laylow lives up to the hype. We’re in the Corner Suite (their best room): king bed plus twin daybed and queen daybed, two balconies with city and partial ocean views, and a tropical-modern vibe. The location is steps from International Market Place, central, walkable, and perfect for shopping, dining, and quick access to the beach.

Inspiration: 3.5/5 (fun mid-century/tropical touches, but not beachfront and some areas aging)

Value: 3.5/5 (good for Marriott elites/points, but resort fee and valet add up)

Central Waikīkī location; minutes to the beach and International Market Place
Corner Suite sleeps up to five with two balconies
Empty mini-fridge, water refill stations, robes provided

Laid-back atmosphere with live music and fun extras (like shave ice nights)
Friendly staff who honored an upgrade request

👎 Cons:
Valet parking is $65/night (street parking is cheaper but a walk)
Resort fee around $41/night adds to cost
Pool is small and limited in seating
Fitness center feels older compared to newer Waikīkī hotels
Carpets and closets are dated; no slippers in-room
