If you're having trouble with your HP DeskJet 2600 All-in-One Printer, one of the first things you can do is print a printer status report. This report will tell you if there are any problems with your printer and how to fix them. Follow the steps below to print a printer status report.


Print a test page
Print a test page to make sure the hardware functions correctly.
1. Make sure there is U.S. letter or A4 size, unused, plain paper in the input tray.
2. Press and hold the Power button, and then press the Cancel button .
3. Let go of the Cancel button, and then the Power button.


Print a Printer Status Report
Print a Printer Status Report to find general information about the printer such as product information, connectivity settings, and scan settings.
Press and hold the Cancel button for 3 seconds.


Print a Print Quality Diagnostic page
If you are experiencing any print quality issues, print a Print Quality Diagnostic page to help identify the source of the issue.
Windows
Open Printer Assistant, and then print the diagnostic page.
1. Open or search for the HP folder in your list of installed software programs, click the folder for your printer, and then click the name of your printer.
The HP Printer Assistant software opens.
2. Click Print & Scan.
3. Click Maintain Your Printer.
The HP Toolbox opens.
4. Click the Device Services tab, and then click Print Quality Diagnostics Page.
A Print Quality Diagnostic Page prints.
Mac
Open HP Utility, and then print the diagnostic page.
1. Click the Finder icon in the dock.
2. Click the drive your HP software is installed on (for example, the Macintosh HD drive).
3. Click the Applications file, and then move your cursor to the next window.
4. Click HP.
5. Double-click the HP Utility icon.
The HP Utility window opens.
6. Click Print Quality Diagnostics Page.


Print a Wireless Network Test page
Print the Wireless Test page for information about the printer's wireless connection. The Wireless Network Testpage provides information about the printer status, hardware (MAC) address, and the IP address. If theprinter is connected to a network, the test report displays details about the network settings.
On the printer's control panel, press the Wireless button and the Information button at the same time.

Print a Network Configuration Page
Print a Network Configuration Page to make sure that the printer is on the same network as the computer.
On the printer's control panel, press the Wireless button and the Information button at the same time.

Print a Printer Information Page
Print a Printer Information Page to find information about mobile printing, your wireless network connection, and your Wi-Fi Direct name and password.
On the printer's control panel, press the Information button .

Print a Web Services Report
Print a Web Services Report to see the Web Services status, turn on Web Services, and fix connection issues.
On the printer's control panel, press the Cancel button and the Information button at the same time.
