Peracetic Acid for the treatment of cannabis microbial load

This presentation was given to the NZ Medicinal Cannabis Council on the 4th of July 2023 to discuss the possibility of using Peracetic Acid (PAA) to minimize the microbial load in cannabis flower.

Peracetic Acid (Vinegar / Acetic Acid mixed with H2O2) has been used in many other aspects of cultivation of fruits, vegetables, and other sanitation methods for decades and decades. However, it may just be what the Aotearoa New Zealand Medicinal Cannabis industry needs in order to meet our Govts strict regulations!

So if we can easily pre-treat the product so when it's packaged it's sterile and arrives at the consumer in a very clean manner, then we should definitely seek to do-so as an industry.
