Shikairo Days - My Deer Friend Nokotan OP Theme (Piano Cover)

"SHIKANOKO NOKONOKO KOSHITANTAN!"

That's the iconic phrase that made the song titled "Shikairo Days" popular. It also became a meme. The anime itself has the same name as the phrase.

After covering some HSR songs, I decided to go back to cover an anime song. And I started with this song.

This arrangement is a bit tricky to arrange, especially at 00:01, 00:22, 01:30, and 02:12. After listening many times, an idea came from my mind. First, I tried to imitate how the lyrics sounded into piano. Then, I used the tone that suits the lyrical part. Maybe adding a little bit of jazz will do the trick. I sometimes used pentatonic scaling at this part.

The iconic phrase is located at 00:01 and 01:25. Because of that, I need to carefully decide which tone suits the best. After listening to some covers, I want to try to take a slightly different approach. And it's one of the parts that uses a pentatonic scale. At the end part on 03:25, I decided to repeat it again but with a powerful ending.

Come to think of it, at 00:22, 01:30, and 02:12, the key it used sounded like G minor. So, I decided to use the G minor key in the mentioned parts.

Variation is also an important thing. Instead of copying the lyrics at 01:41, I decided to do my own solo version while keeping some lyrics noticeable. This is where I used the jazz trick the most.

This is the most energetic piece I've ever made. Also, this piece might be the top 3 most difficult pieces. If you consider the energy, this is the most difficult cover I've ever done. For my level, it takes about a month to fully practice it.
