I dig about the CHRA and try to fathom what happened. Unfortunately I lost sound and a bunch of video. But it looks like the bearing lost lubrication and started to spin around and grind away the white metal of its seat.
This a Garrett GT1752 Turbocharger as commonly found in a whole bunch of GM vehicles.
