Bon Jovi | Legendary Concert at Maimarktgelände | 10th Anniversary | Mannheim 2011

Musically speaking, probably the most special night of my life (since I hadn't been a diehard fan in Munich 2003 yet)! After the downer that had been Dusseldorf 3 days prior, feelings were mixed before this show, but the band went out and delivered - in style! Even though later shows held some even more exciting setlists, this performance, both in terms of the Jon's voice and the band's excitement, was one of the top shows on that tour!
From the spotting Elvis in the crowd to (finally) a successful attempt at Mercy, from one magical box set rarity to the next, from the last nicely working current live track (No Apologies) to an encore that came running over you like a freight train - this night had it all!
It was my defining moment as a Jovi fan. A friend described it fittingly: "As soon as you thoght 'I had heard all of this before', they came up with the next surprise". That night ended my "holy Jovi summer" since it was right inbetween my civil service and the start of my studies and there was not much else on my mind than travelling from one Jovi concert to the next. This was the final one, ending summer of great concerts and meeting fantastic fans from all around the world. I was hyped for over a week after this - something that no other concert had even remotely achieved.
A lot of work went into my penultimate big project here: a number of videos are fantastic multicam mixes that my friend DonWaldone had done for a previous project and my old concert buddy novo85 even dug out some of his original HD snippets from back in the day. Luckily, I did have a compilation disc from 2011 with some YT rips that are no longer available and the other missing footage was pulled together from various sources on here - so a BIG THANK you to all of you out there who filmed and shared their memories with all of us! Only the beginning of KTF will put you right back to YT of 2006 since it's a shaky 240p cell phone video :D After a few days of painstakingly snyching what felt like a 100 video sources to the audio track, it's done right in time for the show's anniversary. Gaps inbetween the songs were filled with still pictures and the 5-minute encore break was edited out.
The audio was taken from the original raw 24/96 recording and completely newly mastered from scratch. Turned out pretty nice I'd say :) Reworking the sound also kind of confirmed my memory since the mix gets quite a bit better after six or seven songs.
