If people talked to people they perceived to be wildly different, what would they learn? Could we stop violence and end prejudice through conversation?

The Human Library Organization or “Menneskebiblioteket” as it is called in Danish, was created in Copenhagen in the spring of 2000 by Ronni Abergel and his brother Dany, with their colleagues Asma Mouna and Christoffer Erichsen - but they don’t publish books.

They publish events - as in time with people who come from completely different backgrounds - and life-changing conversations.

The original library event was open eight hours a day for four days straight and featured over fifty different “titles” - so people could challenge their stereotypes, be pleasantly surprised by our common humanity and connect. ♥️
