The Muttahida Quami Movement protest demonstration at CM house on Water crisis in Karachi
The Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) held negotiations with the government and agreed to end their protest over water shortage in the city.

According to details, representatives of the Chief Minister House and the Commissioner House were sent to negotiate with MQM leaders, which included Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan and Farooq Sattar.

Khawaja Izhar said:-

"The government has given us assurances after which we have decided to end our protest. However, if the water shortage problem persists, we will be back," he warned.

Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan also said that he had advised the government to disconnect all illegal connections and lay down new pipes.

MQM had announced that they would protest over shortage of water in the city, outside the Chief Minister House. Roadblocks were placed near the CM House and a heavy contingent of police personnel were deployed to ensure that the protesters did not get out of hand.
