This video was from last week. Yep — the weather wasn’t great, but I really felt like going out and spending time in nature again. The road was super foggy and honestly looked freezing lol. I’d never been to this spot before, but I thought I’d just go for a quick drive to check it out, before doing a bit of camping and having a late lunch (maybe early dinner too).It was cold. It was raining. But that didn’t stop me.There was absolutely no one out there.
I honestly felt like a lunatic — maybe even a bit stupid — being out there all alone, in the rain, freezing my *ss off lols. But oh well… my feet were itching to get out. Had to satisfy that nature craving 😅. By the way, this is Pukawa Bay — another beautiful part of Lake Taupō.
Since it’s the largest lake in NZ, I kinda feel like I need to explore every bay (and I’m almost there!).
This one’s down the southern end. Look how peaceful 😌. I really love this spot. Imagine it on a sunny day — perfect for a picnic. After walking around, I drove to the other side of the lake — somewhere a bit more open and not too remote — to park up and have a little picnic and eat my lunch. Obviously had to change jackets first because I was soaking wet 😂(Lucky i brought two spares). While eating, I just chilled and watched some tourists stop by to take photos and videos of the lake. Then after that, did a bit of work in the car… and that’s about it. Time to head home.
