DIY Hand Crank Generator Using DC Motor – Voltage & Amp Test


In this video, we demonstrate how to generate electricity by manually rotating a gear motor and using that generated power to run a small DC motor. The entire project works without any batteries or external power—just pure hand power!

By rotating the shaft of the gear motor by hand, we turned it into a small generator. The voltage produced by the gear motor was directly used to power a second DC motor, showing a real-time example of mechanical energy being converted into electrical energy.

Using a multimeter, we measured the voltage and current output during the test. Even with manual rotation, the gear motor generated around 4 volts, which was enough to run the small DC motor effectively.

This project demonstrates how basic components like a gear motor can be used to produce electricity manually and immediately apply it to power small devices. It's a great example of hands-on energy conversion that anyone can try at home.

We used only a gear motor (as generator), a DC motor (as load), a few wires, and a multimeter in this setup. No batteries were involved—the entire operation ran on hand power alone.
