This reflex trains the nervous system in developing the “fight or flight” survival response.

Some possible long term effects if not integrated:
- poor balance and coordination
- motion sickness
- weak immune systems, asthma, allergies and infections
- difficulty with visual perception
- easily distracted
- difficulty adapting to change
